Intake and Therapy Process

Referral Letter:
Realizing you need help is the first step and often the most important step towards a better mental health. At this point you are searching for a professional, discreet and confidential psychologist. You have reached the right place, we at Psyched are here to support you. Before we schedule our appointment, there is one important factor: the referral letter (verwijsbrief in Dutch). 
If you have any form of insurance, a referral letter from your general practitioner is required. Once you have the referral letter, you can easily initiate the intake process by sending a photo or document of it via WhatsApp to our number: +5611017 or to our email address [email protected].

Submission:
Remember, if you have insurance, a referral letter (verwijsbrief) from your general practitioner (huisarts)  is required. However, if you're paying out of pocket, it's optional.  You can easily initiate the process by requesting an intake session on our WhatsApp number: +5611017 or by sending us an email to [email protected]. Additionally, you can enter the contact form on our website. Please include your full name and date of birth in the message. Our admin will contact you shortly. Additionally, you can send us any questions you might have or information you might require. We aim to respond promptly to satisfy your customer experience. These are one of the many easy ways to arrange an appointment with Psyched Aruba!

Appointment Scheduling:
After receiving your submission, we will contact you via WhatsApp or email to schedule an intake session with our psychologist, whether it be face-to-face or online. We will ask for your email on which you will receive the appointment confirmation, information about our location for face-to-face sessions together with photos of our location and entrance door, to help you recognize our offices better.

If your session is online, you will receive a Teams Meeting link in your confirmation email. Optionally we can do our session on a WhatsApp videocall. Make sure you have a private space to conduct the session, so you can speak freely and privately with your psychologist.  Check your internet quality for a smoother online session and optionally have headphones available for better audio quality.

Psychology Intake Session:
During the intake session, our psychologist will conduct a 'beschrijvende diagnose' (descriptive diagnosis) to assess your situation. Together, we'll formulate a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs. Some people might feel anxious for their first psychological appointment, we are here to help you. You will find we are keen on providing a safe space for you.

Treatment Plan Documentation:
Following the intake session, you'll receive a detailed treatment plan. Additionally, you'll be provided with a letter called 'psychologische terugkoppelingsrapportage' (feedback report), which you can share with your general practitioner at your discretion. 

Treatment Progress Monitoring:
We will periodically evaluate your progress using a general screener called Symptom Questionnaire 48 (SQ-48). This helps us ensure that the psychological treatment is effective and adjust it if necessary.

Duration:
The duration of your treatment will depend on whether it falls under 'basis geestelijke gezondheidszorg' (basic mental healthcare) or 'specialistische geestelijke gezondheidszorg' (specialized mental healthcare). Typically, basic mental healthcare involves 5 to 8 sessions, while specialized mental healthcare may require 15 sessions or longer.
